Join Us In Celebrating Our Marriage

On March 22th, 2021 we were married in a private ceremony at Brewers Bay on the US Virigin Island of St. Thomas.  Now together, we request the joy of your presence for a Marriage Celebration held on October 2nd, 2021!

Our celebration

A Pig Roast to Toast For the Happy Couple

The father of the bride was born and raised in Cuba so a pig roast will make our celebration extra special.  A slow cooked, roasted pig is one of the most traditional Cuban foods and cooking styles you can get for a fun, lighthearted, and casual event.  There is a lot of preparation involved and a whole day of cooking, but roasting a pig on an outdoor fire pit is a fine tradition that we are excited to provide.  Traditional black beans, yucca, rice, mojo, and flan (one of the bride's favorites) will be served along with american foods such as BBQ chicken, baby red potatoes (one of the groom's favorites), and a variety of salads.

Do to Covid-19 the bride and groom had a private ceremony on St. Thomas US Virgin Island . Unfortunately, we were not able to celebrate with friends and family due to Covid, now that restrictions have been lifted we would now love for you to join our celebration on October 2nd, 2021.  The Marriage Celebration is a casual time for many of our friends and family to come together and celebrate our loving union.

Is there a Dress Code?

There will be decorations but this is an event that will be held outdoors, so feel free to dress comfortably and casually if you'd like!

What is a Pig Roast Celebration?

A Pig Roast is a traditional Cuban style celebration and includes authentic Cuban food.  It's a time where family and friends gather together for a special time.  There will be table games as well as outdoor games and the event will be held outside.

What about children?

Kids are more than welcome to attend!  In fact, we encourage it since there is an outdoor play area and fainting goats for them to have fun with!  We just ask that you supervise.

About Us

the groom

The groom is originally from Waukeza, WI.  He grew up on a beef and hog farm where he formed a love of the outdoors and hunting.  At age 14, he came to know his sins forgiven through the truth of Romans 5:6 "Christ died for the ungodly".  His life changed from then on and he enjoys studying the Bible and helping others in a Christ-like way.

Paul currently owns Aspenson Lumber Co. Inc, where he procures a variety of woods and trees for various projects to dry them in his kiln. He has a great appreciation for trees in their various forms and appreciates the history and beauty of wood.  Those who work with him know him as the "Tree Man".

As Paul and Sally's friendship developed,  the horizons of his taste expanded from peanut butter sandwiches, to all kinds of foreign foods such as Cuban, Thai, and Japanese cuisine like sushi (which is now a favorite of his).  However, raw oysters never made it into his mouth twice.

Paul is well known for his easy going and humorous personality, along with his compassion (which bride absolutely adores!).

the Bride

The bride grew up on an Elk farm known as Iron Corral Exotics in Readstown WI.  At the age of 17, she first heard the Gospel and realized that Christ loved her enough to die for her and forgive her of all her sins.  She loves country living which is where she learned her great work ethic.  To her, work isn't something to be avoided, but an opportunity to do her best and make things better.

She worked in Quality Control and Internal Auditing, then later began her own business in website development.  At a Bible study that Sally and Talitha (one of her best friends and Paul's niece) hosted, Sally suggested that Paul get a website for his business.  Next thing she knew, she was outdoors stickering, helping load and unload the dry kiln,  planning lumber, operating equipment, AND building a website- AspensonLumber.com. Always willing to help, she worked with Paul on some large production projects that lasted for months.

Her love for helping people pushed her to get a degree as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She designed her own office space, and with Paul's help building the furnishings, began another business- Remedy Massage. This is where she put her energy into helping people improve their lives through her therapy.

Sally's love for helping others resonated with Paul's love to help others. They formed an amazing friendship while out working in the lumber yard which later turned into a best-friendship, and now a marriage.
